Customer Story: Ashley & Allan Judge
Since moving into their property 3 years ago, the kitchen had been on Ashley & Allan’s ‘To Do List’. There were a few other priorities to get on with first, but the announcement that they were going to host Christmas was the trigger they needed to get the process started.
There was nothing as such wrong with the existing kitchen, it was even still fairly new. It just wasn’t their style, and it felt overly fussy with pillars, small drawers, a false wall and sections that stuck out.
“A kitchen is a lot of money, we wanted to get it right and it just annoyed us being pushed on like that. We sort of felt that they didn’t care about how it looked or the practicalities; all that mattered was getting us across the sales line.
This put us off looking for a while, but one day our joiner pointed us in the direction of Millers to look at flooring, it was then that we stumbled on the Kitchen Studio and met Mark.”

Having toured around a few other suppliers, Ashley & Allan had already got a handle on what they liked and disliked which was great for getting started on their Kitchen design.
They wanted lots of cupboard storage, so that they could hide all their groceries, kitchenware and crockery; leaving them lots of workspace that they could use for preparing food.
Ashley explained that she wasn’t much of a chef at the time, but aspired to do more and felt that the kitchen transformation would help.
“I was keen to pick out handles and doors straight off, but Mark calmed us down and guided us through it all step by step. Looking back on the experience now, I appreciate how that helped us make better decisions and made it feel less overwhelming.
Marks knowledge and experience really put us at ease. He was honest about our choices along the way, which helped us look at some items in a different light. He even challenged us to consider a combi micro/oven/grill when we were set against it because of a previous experience and I’m so glad he did now!”

When it came to the installation, Ashley and Allan used their existing joiner that they’d used for their other home alterations. Providing a design and supply service, we coordinated with him to ensure deliveries were smooth and to their timescale.
“Mark was always so contactable which was great, not only through the design process where we constantly making tweaks but also during the installation, which made the whole process more enjoyable and reassuring.
Now that the work has all been completed, I love my new kitchen and have definitely started cooking more from scratch – I’ve even got into ordering the ‘Hello Fresh’ boxes!”
